DIY Napkin Rings

We got our latest issue of Southern Living in the mail the other day and were inspired by this adorable DIY project inspired by Eddie Ross. I always love vintage brooches, but have never been able to find a practical way to reuse them. I now know how I'll be spending my day off on Friday! Keep you posted on how it turns out...

Who we love Pt. 3!

Lyndsay, an old family friend, is a jack of all trades. A graduate of the University of Richmond, Lyndsay decided to stay in the Richmond area to begin a career in accounting. Most recently, she opened the Richmond franchise for Bella Bridesmaid in 2010 on Grove Avenue (all while maintaining a full time+ job) with her sister-in-law. This move seemed fitting for Lyndsay because she has an incredible eye for wedding style. Her wedding pictures say it all (see a sneak peak below)...We're truly inspired by Lyndsay's ability to do it all and do it well! Thanks for sharing with us!

Bridget (the national franchise owner), Elizabeth (the co-owner at Bella in Richmond), and Lyndsay at the Martha Stewart Weddings Party this fall in NY.

As a special feature for our blog, we asked her to share a few details about herself.

1. If I could wear only one color for the rest of my life it would be PINK!!! Assuming that I could wear neutrals too - black, gold, tan, white and navy! :)

2. My best find ever was The University of Richmond. The first time that I walked on campus, I knew it was the school for me. Ten years later, I still live in Richmond and I LOVE it! The friendships and memories that I made at UR are invaluable and I truly believe that my experience there was an integral part of establishing who I am today.

3. I'm constantly inspired by SO many things! I love finding creative style inspiration on blogs, in magazines and on my favorite designer websites. I keep files of the pictures that inspire me and I use them often - from planning an event to redecorating a room at home!

4. I spend Sunday afternoons in the summer, by the pool!!! In the colder months, I love going for walks with friends, shopping, getting my nails done and catching up on blog reading! Anything but "real work"!

5. Happiness means taking time every day to appreciate the blessing of family and friends. It's the little moments that make life big.

Our Visual Library

Being two very visual people, we tend to gravitate towards blogs and Pinterest during our free time as we love scrolling through the thousands of images.  We've started collecting our favorite pictures that we find after scouring the internet.  Here is a sneak peak into our visual library.

A great blog for visual eye candy is Crush Cul de Sac.

Who we love Pt. 2!

We recently caught up with Devon, an old family friend, who has an impeccable eye for wedding style. Since we just fell in love with her wedding pictures, we thought we'd share with you! A former wedding planner in the DC area, Devon created her own blog called "District Weddings" which became a must-read for DC Brides. In recent years, she has made a career change to work for her dream paper company, Cheree Berry Paper, where she resides in the windy city of Chicago. Her attention to detail and eye for color is what sets her apart from others. We're looking forward to seeing what she has up her sleeve next! Thanks for sharing a sneak peak of your gorgeous wedding with us!

As a special feature for our blog, we asked her to share a few details about herself.

1. If I could wear only one color for the rest of my life it would be white.  White jeans, white button-downs, white tank tops.  There's something about white that says summer at the beach.  Simple and classic.

2. My best find ever was my dining room table.  We found it on the side of the road on our honeymoon in Bali.  We worked with a wood carver to design the base and benches and then shipped everything back to the states.  Four months later it arrived on our doorstep.  It was one of the most spontaneous decisions we've made, and I'm so glad we went for it.

3. I'm constantly inspired by my chief mentor and good friend, Cheree Berry.  Her creativity amazes me on a daily basis.  She's the total package -- an eye for design, a killer instinct for mixing prints, and tons of charm.  I'm the luckiest girl on the planet to be able to work with her every day.
Oh, and I'm also constantly inspired by shelter magazines -- and shelter blogs.  Hooked on Houses, Habitually Chic, and Urban Grace are three of my faves.  Secretly I'd love to be an interior designer.

4. I spend Sunday afternoons brunching with my husband, watching a little football, walking our dogs, and playing with our baby boy.
5. Happiness means Geez...this is a hard one!  Happiness means having my cup of coffee every morning -- two Splenda and a splash of Coffeemate flavored creamer?  No, but seriously, happiness means being content with how things are going in your life.  And when you are content, you can delight in the little things -- like Pumpkin Spice flavored creamer.

And the winner is...

Bethany at Maryland Pink and Green!  Congrats!!
