We recently caught up with Devon, an old family friend, who has an impeccable eye for wedding
style. Since we just fell in love with her wedding pictures, we thought we'd share with you! A former wedding planner in the DC area, Devon created her own
blog called "District Weddings" which became a must-read for DC
Brides. In recent years, she has made a career change to work for her
dream paper company, Cheree Berry Paper, where she resides in the windy
city
of Chicago. Her attention to detail and eye for color is what sets her
apart from others. We're looking forward to seeing what she has up her
sleeve next! Thanks for sharing a sneak peak of your gorgeous wedding with us!
As a special feature for our blog, we asked her to share a few details about herself.
1. If I could wear only one color for the rest of my life it would be white.
White jeans, white button-downs, white tank tops. There's something
about white that says summer at the beach. Simple and classic.
2. My best find ever was my
dining room table. We found it on the side of the road on our
honeymoon in Bali. We worked with a wood carver to design the base and
benches and then shipped everything back to the states. Four months
later it arrived on our doorstep. It was one of the most spontaneous
decisions we've made, and I'm so glad we went for it.
3. I'm constantly inspired by my
chief mentor and good friend, Cheree Berry. Her creativity amazes me
on a daily basis. She's the total package -- an eye for design, a
killer instinct for mixing prints, and tons of charm. I'm the luckiest
girl on the planet to be able to work with her every day. Oh, and I'm also constantly inspired by shelter magazines -- and shelter blogs. Hooked on Houses, Habitually Chic, and Urban Grace are three of my faves. Secretly I'd love to be an interior designer.
4. I spend Sunday afternoons brunching with my husband, watching a little football, walking our dogs, and playing with our baby boy.
5. Happiness means Geez...this
is a hard one! Happiness means having my cup of coffee every morning
-- two Splenda and a splash of Coffeemate flavored creamer? No, but
seriously, happiness
means being content with how things are going in your life. And when
you are content, you can delight in the little things -- like Pumpkin
Spice flavored creamer.
